Sculptra *

Sculptra isn’t about adding volume in the traditional sense, it’s about rebuilding what’s been lost over time. As we age, collagen production naturally declines, leading to changes in facial structure, skin quality and overall firmness. Instead of simply replacing volume, Sculptra works beneath the surface to stimulate your body’s own collagen production gradually restoring strength, support and density.

This means results don’t appear overnight. They develop progressively across a series of treatments, creating subtle improvements that build over time. Skin becomes firmer, structure feels stronger and the face appears more lifted and supported without looking overfilled or obviously treated.

It’s particularly suited to those noticing more global changes in their face, rather than a single area of concern. Think soft volume loss, skin thinning, or a general loss of structure where everything just feels like it’s shifted slightly.

Sculptra takes a long-term approach to ageing. One that focuses on regeneration, not quick fixes, working with your biology to create results that are natural, balanced, and designed to last.

Think less filler, more foundation.

  • Sculptra is an injectable treatment made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA)—a biocompatible substance that’s been used safely in medicine for decades, including in dissolvable stitches.

Rather than acting like a traditional filler, Sculptra works by stimulating your body’s own collagen production.

Once injected, the PLLA particles sit within the deeper layers of the skin and trigger a natural response from your body. This response encourages your skin to gradually produce more collagen in the treated area.

Over time, the PLLA itself is broken down and absorbed, but the collagen it has stimulated remains. This is what leads to visible improvements in skin thickness, structure, and firmness.

Because this process happens gradually, results develop over a series of weeks and continue to improve after each session creating a subtle, progressive change rather than an instant transformation.

  • Sculptra is best suited to those noticing more gradual, overall changes in their face rather than a single area they want to treat.

It’s ideal if you’re starting to see:

    • Loss of facial structure or support

    • Skin that feels thinner or less firm

    • Subtle volume loss across the face

    • A more tired or “flattened” appearance

    • Early to moderate signs of ageing

It’s particularly popular with clients who want a full-face approach to ageing, rather than focusing on individual lines or features.

Sculptra also works well for those who:

    • Prefer subtle, progressive results over instant change

    • Want to avoid looking “overfilled”

    • Are thinking long-term about maintaining their face

    • Are open to a treatment plan rather than a one-off appointment

  • Sculptra works very differently to traditional dermal fillers.

Dermal fillers are designed to add volume instantly. They sit within the tissue to fill, shape, or contour specific areas giving immediate/quickly, visible results.

Sculptra takes a completely different approach.

Rather than placing volume directly, it stimulates your body to rebuild its own collagen, gradually improving the structure and quality of the skin over time. There’s no instant “plumping” effect instead, results develop subtly as your collagen levels increase.

    The key difference?

    • Filler: adds volume to the face

    • Sculptra: rebuilds structure within the face

Because of this, Sculptra is better suited to:

    • Global volume loss

    • Skin thinning and laxity

    • Clients wanting a more natural, progressive result

    Whereas filler is ideal for:

    • Defining features (lips, chin, jawline)

    • Replacing targeted volume loss

    • Creating more immediate change

  • Sculptra is prescribed and planned per vial, not per area because this is a full-face, structural treatment rather than something targeted to a single line or feature.

At your consultation, we assess your face as a whole. This includes:

    • Current volume and structural support

    • Skin thickness and quality

    • Degree of collagen loss

    • Your age and stage of ageing

    • Your long-term goals

From this, we build a treatment plan that’s tailored to you.

As a general guide, we often use the rule of one vial per decade of life (for example, clients in their 40s may require around 4 vials), but this is not a fixed formula. Some clients need more, some less it’s always based on what your face actually needs.

  • Sculptra is administered using a cannula, a small, blunt-tipped instrument designed to move smoothly beneath the skin.

We begin by creating a small entry point, before using the cannula to carefully distribute the product across the treatment area. This allows us to treat the face more holistically, placing Sculptra evenly and strategically rather than in isolated points.

    Using a cannula helps to:

    • Improve comfort during treatment

    • Reduce bruising and swelling

    • Lower the risk of complications

    • Create a smoother, more even result

Sculptra is not designed to be completed in a single session. Instead, your treatment is built gradually over time.

Most clients require 2–3 sessions, spaced 6–8 weeks apart. This allows your body time to respond to the treatment and begin producing collagen before the next session.

Because results develop progressively, this approach ensures we can build structure in a controlled, natural-looking way rather than trying to achieve everything in one appointment.
